1 Last Night's Joy (3:33)

Andie Phaddie's, Claude Flanagan's, Last Night’s Joy

During the production of Cathal McConnell's song collection I Travelled This Country in 2011, many nights were spent at our kitchen table writing out lyrics and noting Cathal's sources. In the process, Cathal was reminded of many tunes he had not played for some time. These three reels come from those late nights of recollection! Cathal learned the first tune from Fermanagh fiddle player Ned Curran. Claude Flanagan was a Fermanagh fiddle and flute player whose son, Pete (P) was brought to McConnell's house in Ballinaleck to teach tin whistle to Cathal. Donegal fiddle player Mickie Doherty was his source for the third reel.
