As "In Concert", the first CD recorded in Brittany and released in 2005 by the Irish violinist Gerry O'Connor and the Breton guitarist Gilles Le Bigot, this second splendid disc was also recorded during a concert · this time in Ireland · in the "Patrick Kavanagh Centre" in Inniskeen (birthplace of the poet to whom the centre is dedicated) in County Monaghan in April '22. The two musicians are among the most important in the Irish and Breton traditions and in their careers they have been part of ensembles that have left deep grooves in the recovery and re-evaluation of popular music such as La Lugh and Skylark (in the case of Gerry O'Connor ) and Skolvan and Barzaz for Gilles Le Bigot; naturally also in this disc, the executive level is of a high level as are the interplay and the choice of repertoire which includes Irish, Scottish and Breton dance themes, chosen from the casket of tradition but also including new compositions.

Among those that I found most interesting and particular with respect to the repertoire, there is undoubtedly the suite "Son An Soner · An Damez Kozh" composed of a march composed by Le Bigot dedicated to Breton biniou and bombard players coupled with a fairly rare to feel "Ridèe", a dance aria sung and danced in different ways depending on the area of origin, however performed in a circle and characterized by a vocal interlayer between one strophe and the next. From the Irish area I point out the overwhelming set of jigs that opens the disc, "The Old Dash Chum · How She Gets Up in the Morning · The Torn Bag Apron", taken from a recording of a 1971 concert by violinist Peter McArdle in a pub of Dundalk, "Ùr Chnoic Chéin Cáinte", a lyric by Peadar Ó Doirnín with a melody by Gaelic scholar and collector Peadar Ó Dubhda and finally the sumptuous set of reels "Huish the Cat Sweet Molly The Pinafore on the Wall" attributed to Walker Piper Jackson (1716 1798) from the important collection "The Rose in the Gap".

Important disc, one of the best publications of Irish and in this case also Breton music listened to in recent years.

The Oriel poet Peadar Ó Doirnín (1700-1769) wrote the poem and music was added by local folklore collector and Gaelic scholar Peadar Ó Dubhda. This was one of the first airs Gerry learned to play on the fiddle.
